As enterprises worldwide adjust to nearly 100% work from home (WFH) we can all use a bit of humor. Compiled from across our team, AppNeta is offering a few suggestions to liven up the background of your Zoom or blur your background in Microsoft Teams until they release custom backgrounds later this year. If you don’t know about the feature or want to enable it, jump to our instructions below on how to change your background for Zoom or Teams.

How to Change your Background
Zoom
Supported on Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, Zoom allows you to choose a virtual background when you begin sharing your video by clicking the down arrow next to the video button and then clicking on Virtual Background. That link will shortcut you directly to the Settings window.
- PC: Click your profile picture and then Settings. Select Virtual Background from the list of options and select or upload your new background. Most of us won’t have a green screen setup so make sure to uncheck that box at the bottom of your settings.
- Mac: Click on your Zoom menu and select Preferences (alternatively Command + ,). Select Virtual Background from the list of menu options and then choose or upload your new background.
Troubleshooting
For more instructions or specifications check out this link. Note that Virtual Backgrounds do have to be enabled company-wide, for certain teams or per meeting by an administrator or meeting host.
Microsoft Teams
Teams has a few options here. You can simply blur your background using the More Actions (‘...’ Menu) from within a meeting.
Tip: Want to blur your background quickly? Ctrl+Shift+P should do it in a snap!
