Sometimes the biggest performance challenges aren’t in the code you write, but in the code you use, and Drupal is no exception. The upcoming Drupal 8 is moving away from a hook-based module system to a full-on MVC architecture with Symfony, and while that will have some real challenges, there’s also a lot to be excited about. AppNeta’s current support for Drupal 6 and 7 simply won’t apply in that new world.

We’ve done some exploration in previous posts (parts one and two, specifically), but in order to make sure that we’re as prepared as possible for whatever comes next, we’ve partnered with Acquia to go even deeper on every aspect of Drupal 8’s performance, and how it directly changes the websites you are building daily. Check out their kickoff post in this series, and look for parts 2-5 both here and on their blog, starting August 1st!
